Donate to the Plainsman during the GO BIG GIVE!
Go Big GIVE will take place online at www.GoBigGIVE.org on
May 1, 2015 from midnight to midnight (12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.).
What is Go Big GIVE?
Go Big GIVE is a 24-hour, online giving event organized by the Grand Island Community Foundation and Heartland United Way to grow philanthropy in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties. Matching funds and prize money are available to amplify charitable donations. Go Big GIVE is based on other successful giving days hosted by community organizations across the country.
Why do people give on May 1, 2015 through www.GoBigGIVE.org?
We encourage you to support your local nonprofits with year-round giving, but we created a special event on May 1, 2015 - a charitable holiday - to celebrate the spirit of generosity and support the work of nonprofits. Plus, your gift made through www.GoBigGIVE.org during the 24 hours are amplified by matching funds, bonus grants and incentive prizes.
How does Go Big GIVE work to help participating nonprofit organizations?
After Go Big GIVE, organizations will receive the donations gifted to their organization as well as a proportional share of the match pool. For example, if an organization receives 3% of the total donations raised by all organizations participating in Go Big GIVE, then the organization will receive 3% of the Challenge Match Pool.
The Plainsman Museum is a not-for-profit institution, which focuses on the time from 1860-1950, that collects, preserves, illustrates and works to establish the history of Hamilton County, Nebraska through education, exhibits, research and maintenance of relevant archives and collections.
