Hamilton County Mural Project
Official Legacy Project of the Nebraska Sesquicentennial
Nebraska was granted statehood on March 1, 1867. The state will commemorate its Sesquicentennial beginning January 1, 2017, with a yearlong celebration involving a wide variety of programs and projects across the state. The Hamilton County Mural Project has been chosen as a Legacy Project on the Nebraska Statehood 150 web site!
You are invited by the Hamilton County Historical Society to participate in a county wide project that involves taking historic images from around the county and reproducing them as murals to be displayed on or in buildings of your choice.
The Plainsman Museum will establish a registry of locations for all murals, which will be placed in the archives.
A small-scale sample of the mural is available for show from the Plainsman Museum. Call Tina Larson, Executive Director at 402-694-6531 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
