In 2003 the Burlington Northern Rail Road donated a caboose to the Plainsman
Museum. Through the generosity of the Burlington Northern and countless volunteers,
tracks were laid and the caboose was moved to the Plainsman Museum grounds in
December 2004.
Currently the caboose is undergoing renovations. After renovation the caboose will house the Plainsman Museum’s rail road exhibit that will include photos, artifacts and the caboose itself! The caboose serves as a reminder of Hamilton Counties rail road history. The caboose will be open only for special occasions until restoration is complete.
